Geneva is a hockey town, and Upper Deck has held the exclusive NHL licence for decades. Series 1 of the 2026-27 season lands this autumn with its fifty Young Guns, the rookies everyone hunts.
Sealed Upper Deck Series 1 then Series 2 packs, the NHL’s flagship product. The base set has 200 cards; the Young Guns, numbered 201 to 250, fall one pack in two and carry all the product’s value.
Upper Deck is the only publisher allowed to use NHL logos and jerseys, which makes the choice simple: for licensed hockey, it is Upper Deck or nothing.
Since 1990 a player’s Young Guns has been his reference rookie card, the one that gets graded and handed down. A player who breaks through sees his Young Guns gain value for his whole career. That is why Series 1 is awaited every autumn, in Switzerland too, where the league’s Swiss players have collectors of their own.
